How to Turn a Video into a Blog Post Using a Transcript

Every video you publish already contains the raw material for an article. Turning it into a blog post gives you a second piece of content that ranks in Google, reaches people who prefer reading, and links back to the video. The transcript does most of the work.
Step 1: Transcribe the video
Upload your video to a video-to-text converter and download the plain-text version. Paragraph breaks at natural pauses give you a rough structure to start from.
Step 2: Find the outline
Skim the transcript and note where each new topic begins. These become your subheadings. A 10-minute video usually has four to six sections.
Step 3: Edit spoken language into written language
- Remove verbal filler: "so", "basically", "you know", repeated sentence starts.
- Shorten long spoken sentences into two or three written ones.
- Replace references to what is on screen ("as you can see here") with a description or a screenshot.
- Add the details you only said in passing: links, numbers, product names.
Step 4: Add what readers need
Write an introduction that says who the post is for and what they will learn, a short summary or checklist at the end, and a descriptive title that matches what people actually search for.
Step 5: Embed the video
Embed the original video near the top of the post. Readers who prefer watching can press play, and the post sends views back to your channel.
With a transcript in hand this whole process takes 30–60 minutes instead of writing from scratch, and you can repeat it for your entire video library.
