Transcribing an hour-long interview by hand takes four to six hours. Upload the recording and get a timestamped draft in minutes, then spend your time on analysis instead of typing.

Private by design

Interviews often contain sensitive information. Your recording is processed on our own servers, never sent to outside AI providers, and deleted immediately after transcription. Only you have the private link to the transcript.

Quotes with timestamps

Every sentence carries a timestamp, so you can verify a quote against the original audio before publishing, which is essential for journalism and research integrity.

Qualitative research

Download plain text and import it into NVivo, ATLAS.ti, MAXQDA or a spreadsheet for coding. JSON output is available if you want to process segments with your own scripts.

How it works

  1. 1

    Upload or paste a link

Drop a video or audio file, or paste a public link. Choose the spoken language or let us detect it.

  2. 2

    We transcribe it

Our speech recognition turns speech into punctuated text with timestamps. Most files finish in minutes.

  3. 3

    Copy or download

Copy the text, or download TXT, SRT and VTT subtitles. Your media file is deleted automatically.

Frequently asked questions

Is it verbatim?

Transcripts are clean-read: filler words like 'um' are usually dropped and punctuation is added. It is not a strict verbatim transcript.

Can I transcribe phone interviews?

Yes. Phone audio is lower quality, so expect a few more errors than a studio recording.

Who can see my transcript?

Anyone with the transcript's unique link. Links are long and random, and are not listed or indexed by search engines.
